The virtually perfect 1999 Maya is a wine of stupendous unctuosity， richness， fruit， and elegance. It is remarkable that the Cabernet Franc grown in these red volcanic soils can produce wines of such intensity as well as elegance. Notes of cassis， blueberries， blackberries， espresso， smoke， earth， and vanilla are offered in a full-bodied， profoundly concentrated and layered style. For whatever reason， the 1999 Maya revealed more forwardness than the Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2024.
| DALLA VALLE / ダラ・ヴァレ ダラ・ヴァレ・ヴィンヤーズは、イタリア人実業家のグスタフ・ダラ・ヴァレ氏が、1986年にナパヴァレー・オークヴィルに設立した、家族経営の小さなワイナリーです。1995年にグスタフが亡くなって以降は、妻のナオコ・ダラ・ヴァレがこのワイナリーを所有しています。 2人の娘の名前から命名された「マヤ」は1988年に初リリース。そしてわずか4年後の1992年、ハイジ・ピーターソン・バレット氏のコンサルティングにより、パーカーポイント満点を獲得し、一躍世界のスターワインの仲間入りを果します。 ロバート・パーカー氏は「私がこれまでテイスティングした新世界の最上のカベルネ・フランはダラ・ヴァレのブドウ畑からのものだ」と言っています。生産量が極めて少ないため、入手することが大変困難な超カルトワインです。 |
